FLIGHT IS DELAYED!!!

Please make sure you are checking the Delta website or phone number before you leave to go to the airport. They are flight #741 coming in from JFK/New York. I just received a phone call from Clark (at 6:17pm pacific time) and he said they still had not taken off from NY. The flight attendants told them it could be another 45 minutes until they take off. Meaning their flight will not arrive in Seattle until between 1 and 2am. The phone number I have for Delta to check flight status is 1-800-221-1212. We are praying for a safe flight and for them to get some as quickly as possible. :) See you all there later tonight!!! :) :) :)

Blessings,
Dina Davis

Final Ministry Update

Today is Thursday and I (Clark) am in Accra getting ready to conclude the final day of the PX2 seminar that I have been doing over here. It has gone so well and smooth I can't even believe it myself. The young people that I have had the honor of working with have really learned and taken to heart the principles that we are teaching about reaching our potential and accomplishing our dreams.

The team is driving south from Bamboi today to Cape Coast for their play day tomorrow, please pray for a safe journey today as they will be in the bus about 12 hours. They have had a great time and we are all very tired after all that we have done here. We unloaded the container entirely and distributed the donations all over Bamboi, we (after today) concluded 2 different PX2 seminars that both were amazing, and Cameron we able to get three wells repaired and other set for drilling a couple of weeks from now. We ministered in churchs, squares, and schools with our VBS and got the chance to see thousands of children!

Tuesday we all went to Mole game reservation and saw many animals ranging from warthogs, to baboons, to water buck, to yes finally ELEPHANTS! My personal white whale was spotted at one point we found a pack of 11 of them which was very cool for everyone, there is something special about going to Africa and seeing elephants.

I will post one more time from our resort Friday night at which point I will read to the team all the comments that you have been leaving. I am sorry we haven't post much, but the internet was very limited as was the cell service to call in posts which I did once.

Thanks for you prayers and your support we are all looking forward to coming home and partying RLC picinic style on Sunday! (If we are not all asleep)

Update from Pastor Steve

All is well, everyone is 100% healthy and getting along wonderful. The container has arrived and Steve wishes everyone could see what this is doing for Bamboi. They are busy distruting all the supplies, etc from the container. As we spoke the children were playing with the parachute and I could hear giggles in the background. They will repair 2 wells and drill one new one on Wednesday. Everything is wonderful and they can't wait to get back to tell of the wonderful things God is doing through the team in Africa.

Update from August 16th

Hello everyone,
We are well and good in the land of red dust and amazing sunsets! Today was great! First we split the team up and I took Carly, Yada, Rachel, and Marisa with me to begin our youth seminar in Bamboi. We have 15 young people selected for their vision and ability to influence others in our class. The interaction with our team was great. We will conclude it tomorrow and then I head to the city to run the class one more time. They are very good seeds we are sowing.
The rest of the team went around and delivered a case of bibles to every church from the container which was a tremendous blessing for them. (We are giving out everything else from the container tomorrow.) At the churches, the group also lead worship and did dramas, getting a great chance to minister to the people. I am very excited for our team because they are getting to experience so many different things......
...like the funneral of our dear friend Adjei's mother. It was attended by over 1000 people and was a ceremony that our team is not soon to forget, that is for sure. We arrived and had to greet the family, all 300 of them one at a time with a handshake. Then the dancing and celebrating took place with our team right in the middle of it, looking more white than ever before. We are all doing well and looking forward to the great things that lie ahead, we just don't know what they all are yet! T.I.A. (this is Africa)
Thank you for keeping us in your prayers!
Peace out,
Clark

Update from August 15th

Hey everyone we are doing well and kicking! The container was unloaded yesterday in a record time of three hours. It is amazing what a army of Ghanians can do to speed up the process. I am happy to report that those of us that were sick (Clark, Monica, Alan, and Angela) are all doing much better now! We have filled the medical clinic with all the materials in the container for them and it is such a blessing. We will continue to distribute the materials to the schools and churchs over the next couple of days. We also went into town today and reached about 250 children with our VBS ministry. That was very fun and exciting! Tomorrow we will begin the youth training that we brought with us called PX2 so we are very excited to be working with the best young minds from the village to help them dream bigger than ever and then how to acheive those dreams. We miss everyone and are very axious to get home to family and friends. Keep praying for health and energy! Clark

WE HAVE ARRIVED!!!

Hello everybody!! We are calling in from Bamboi! We have arrived safely. Our trip started out a little scary when we arrived at the airport and were told we had tickets but no reservations. Delta realized they had made the mistake and paid over $10,000 to other passengers to get volunteers to put our team on the plane as we were all flying standby. We got on the first flight to NY with no problems but then we were "stand by" in NY as well. Wouldn't you know Delta had 15 first class seats open so we were able to start the trip off in style. I now have a new vision of how missions should be done!!!.......ok, maybe not. :)

We arrived in Accra to find out our hotel reservations had been bumped because another group decided to stay longer than they originally planned and the hotel allowed them to. This is the first time this trip I uttered the words "T.I.A." (This Is Africa)

We spent all of yesterday driving from Accra to Bamboi only to arrive in Bamboi and find out we are not staying in Bamboi but the next village north called Carpenter (another 30 minute drive). We have been put up in some great facilities, brand new houses, great beds that are already stocked with mosquito nets. Even the kitchen where we will be preparing our meals is brand new!!! Steve is driving back to Accra this afternoon because tomorrow morning he and Nana have been granted a meeting with the Vice President of Ghana to discuss the Mo people as well as the furthering of the PX2 circulum in Ghana. PX2 is the youth version of the Pacific Institute curriculum.

Our container is set to arrive in Bamboi tonight and thankfully it only costed us 2 bicycles to release it through customs. :) We are excited it is arriving and beginning tomorrow we will be spending all hours getting it unpacked and distributed. All in all the team is doing really well. We have had a lot of fun, including convincing Angela that part of the perks of flying in first class is that you get to be weightless during take off. Which isn't true but it was fun watching her try to be.

The internet has been down here in the village for the past week so you may not get many posts from us on the blog (this is actually being posted by Dina who is talking to Clark on the phone!). However, we will post as much as we can when the service returns. If you do not hear from us, please do not worry, all is going very well.

Please continue to pray for our continued health as well.

We will post again as soon as we can,
Clark

You can follow our team on this blog!

We will try to constantly put updates on this blog as to what we are doing and the great things that are happening in Bamboi, Ghana while we are there. Please feel free to leave us comments and good thoughts to meditate on while we are there! I will try and post something everyday but I have to warn you that there are times when the power may be out for a day or two and that cuts me off. Don't panic if that is the case will try and update as best as we can.

Thanks for all your support and prayers they are very much needed and appriciated!
